If I could get an emulator to run at perfect 60FPS, while looking more or less like the games originally did, I would be super happy. I'm not interested in improving graphics/resolution, and don't really care about how its done. Also, inexplicable slowdowns etc happen on some games. Completely 3D games, look fine if you crank everything to the max on the OGL2 plugin, but 2D, dithered shadows etc, look awful. I 've tried everything, including different emulators, plugins and settings, but haven't found a configuration that can be applied to all games. Yet, I haven't found a proper solution, for good looking and consistent emulation. The speed of computers has been more than enough for years, in order to perfectly emulate Playstation 1. I believe as far as speed epsxe is faster than pcsxr.įor XEBRA\ARBEX you will need to set i cache rate 10 for Parasite Eve 2 to work all the other games work fine. And they both have issues with different games. It's hard to say which is better out of those because no one has made a compatibility of which games they have play from beginning to end with both emulators. If you want enhanced graphic you will need one of the emulators that support plugins. However they just have the same graphics as ps1.Also the gui is a bit odd compared to other emulators. I play on a Laptop (Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.00GHz / NVIDIA GeForce 540M 2GB VRAM / 4GB RAM / Resolution: 1366x768 / Windows 7 Home Premium Edition). There are others like XEBRA and Mednafen that seem to be the best accurate emulators, even better than pSX (PSXFin). Of course, those are the two emulators recommended for plugins. This is the main reason for some people to recommend this emulator over ePSXe, but I don't know how exactly works. PCSXR has something called GTE Accuracy Hack. However, there are other people that prefer PCSXR (PCSX-Reloaded). I have investigated a bit (here and in other webs) about the different emulators for PSX. Hello everyone!
